Summary:
An EHS Specialist is required to support a construction project for a leading biopharmaceutical company based in East Cork. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring construction activities are carried out safely and in compliance with all relevant regulatory and corporate EHS requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage the Permit to Work system.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS regulations related to PSCS/PSDP responsibilities for construction activities.
  • Deliver EHS inductions to contractors and project personnel.
  • Review and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Prepare and maintain EHS reports, records, and statistics.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of EHS management systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and monitor the implementation of control measures.
  • Monitor compliance with legislative and corporate EHS standards, ensuring readiness for internal and external audits.
  • Assist in the development and coordination of emergency response procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Relevant third-level qualification in Occupational Health & Safety and/or Environmental discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in an EHS role, preferably in a construction environment within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical sector.
  • Strong working knowledge of Irish EHS legislation, especially related to construction projects.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to engage with contractors and stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams.
