Summary:
A Ruminant Veterinary Manager is required for a pharmaceutical in South Dublin. The successful candidate will provide specialist veterinary expertise on all aspects of ruminant products and product markets and, in doing so, to actively contribute to sales support, product development and marketing within Ireland. The candidate will also be a technical expert for the ruminant product portfolio in order to work with and support account managers as well as having a good background knowledge of all ruminant products.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist veterinary expertise on all aspects of ruminant products and product markets, actively contributing to sales support, product development, and marketing within Ireland.
- Serve as a technical expert for the ruminant product portfolio, supporting account managers and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of all ruminant products.
- Prioritize field-based support while continuing to support product managers and their products as needed.
- Allocate time approximately as follows: 45% sales support, 30% marketing support, and 25% customer enquiries/complaints.
- Attend evening and weekend meetings as required, with occasional overnight stays.
- Offer support to external customers by answering queries on products and large animal health/welfare.
- Investigate pharmacovigilance reports to determine product causality for reporting to the relevant Competent Authority.
- Provide sales support to account managers and contribute to sales activities.
- Deliver presentations to customers and clients to highlight products and diseases.
- Provide support at the veterinary and farm levels, including follow-ups on pharmacovigilance and product quality complaints to improve product usage.
- Support pharmacovigilance and Product Quality Complaint (PQC) handling processes.
- Record and triage reports of Adverse Events or PQCs for entry into the pharmacovigilance database.
- Code and assess cases in the pharmacovigilance database and release reports to comply with regulatory and company requirements.
- Input follow-up information into the pharmacovigilance database and release reports for approval in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Stay informed on pharmacovigilance requirements, including legislative and company guidelines, to conduct duties efficiently.
- Support the named product portfolios and Marketing/Product Managers with an aim to defend and grow market share.
- Perform SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) for the products.
- Collate and translate information from internal and external sources into key differentiating points for product positioning and defense.
- Propose and manage trials to support products.
- Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs to assist in product licensing.
- Ensure compliance with APHA / NOAH Code of Practice and Animal
- Remedies / Veterinary Medicines Regulations, for both the company and competitors.
- Approve material related to the named product portfolio, ensuring consistency with all regulations and requirements.
- Defend against competitor challenges and represent the company at hearings when necessary.
- Monitor competitor activity, challenge breaches, and follow up to satisfactory conclusions.
- Provide comprehensive in-house technical training to ensure all staff are well-informed about large animal products and markets.
- Represent the company at relevant meetings, congresses, and exhibitions to promote key industry influencers, opinion makers, and brand awareness.
- Present trial results and provide written or verbal presentations as required.
- Liaise with International teams regarding future product market development in Ireland and other countries.
- Develop working relationships within the Irish agricultural industry.
- Establish relationships with key academic institutions and diagnostic companies, such as Universities and Diagnostic Laboratories, to keep the company at the forefront of emerging technologies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Registered veterinary practitioner with at least three years’ experience in general practice with a Relevant Industry Qualification.
- In-depth knowledge of the veterinary market.
- In depth knowledge of pharmacovigilance legislation and guidelines.
