Summary:
Our client is a biopharmaceutical company based in Athlone looking for a Process Engineer to manage the equipment upgrades to the filling line and deliver the throughput to meet the product requirements. The role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, engaging stakeholders, and implementing sustainable practices across various aspects of the pharmaceutical value chain.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Execution.
  • Develop project plans, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and lead project teams, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and adherence to project timelines.
  • Identify and allocate necessary resources, including personnel, budget, and equipment, to support project implementation.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or obstacles, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Sustainability Strategy and Implementation.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of biopharmaceutical processes and promote social responsibility within the industry.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and certifications related to sustainability.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to integrate project improvement considerations into their respective functions.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, such as suppliers, customers, industry associations, and regulatory bodies, to foster partnerships and promote sustainable practices.
  • Act as a liaison between different departments, fostering cross-functional collaboration and ensuring alignment with capital projects objectives.
  • Reporting and Performance Monitoring.
  • Establish metrics and indicators to track project performance and progress towards goals.
  • Prepare regular reports on improvement initiatives, including key performance indicators, milestones achieved, and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct periodic audits or assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of capital projects and recommend adjustments as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in sustainability within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement, such as the adoption of new technologies, processes, or materials that align with sustainability goals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to implement innovative solutions and drive continuous improvement in sustainability practices.
  • Managing Trade Contractors:.
  • Manage multidiscipline trade contractors in a construction environment.
  • Track variations.
  • Manage the project programme (Microsoft Project).

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as sustainability, environmental science, engineering, or biopharmaceutical sciences.
  • In-depth knowledge of project concepts, practices, and regulations, particularly within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyse complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Familiarity with sustainability certifications (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001, ISO 50001) and sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP) is advantageous.
  • Project management certifications (e.g., PMP) are desirable.
