Lab Project Engineer

Summary:
Our client is a Biologics company based in Waterford and is going through a major expansion. They are currently looking for a Lab Project Engineer to join their team. The role will involve project engineering for two large labs – Tech Dev and QA/QC, currently in design for their new DS facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Specification / Procurement.
  • Defining equipment needs with end users.
  • Specification and procurement of equipment in conjunction with lab SMEs.
  • Liaising with internal procurement functions.
  • Liaising with vendors.
  • Multi-discipline design – Liaising / co-ordinating / directing the 3rdParty design team.
  • Ensuring layouts and design meet end user needs.
  • Ensuring equipment utility needs and requirements are adequately captured in the issued design.
  • Understanding of equipment introduction documentation lifecycle (CQV).
  • Co-ordination of the CQV effort in preparation for and execution of site works.
  • General co-ordination re safety, budget, schedule, scope for the laboratory equipment.
  • Detailed planning for equipment procurement/relocation (some items are existing and need to be transitioned to the new labs), utility connection, vendor attendance, C&Q documentation.
  • Role would require full time site attendance.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Process/Mechanical Engineering.
  • 4-5 years’ experience minimum.
  • Equipment specification / procurement.
  • Project engineering experience.
  • Some C&Q experience, understanding of the documentation lifecycle for qualified equipment.
  • Having worked with or for a multi-disciplinary design team.
  • Good understanding of the various design needs for the lab equipment.
  • Laboratory equipment / DS experience a benefit.
